Why Brodar Lets You Create Your Own Tags and Tribes

Gay men are not one size fits all.

For years, a lot of gay apps have used pre-selected tribes, tags and labels to help people describe themselves. And to be fair, that can be useful. Words like bear, twink, daddy, geek, gym guy, trans, leather, discreet or masc can help people find others they relate to. Or they get lumped together some how, what is a tribe what is a kink or a fetish?

Real example of a Brodar profile with tags and tribes
"i can really show off who i am on Brodar, i feel like i can do more on here that Grindr, make my own tribes"

But the problem is simple.

Not everyone fits neatly into a fixed list.

Some people feel limited by the options. Some feel boxed in. Some want to describe themselves in a way that is more specific, more personal, more playful, or just more true to them.

That is why Brodar does things differently.

On Brodar, you can create your own tags and tribes. Instead of only picking from a pre-made list, you can write the words that actually fit you. You can use tags to show your identity, your vibe, your interests, your community, what you are into, or how you want other people to find you.

And you are not limited to just one or two.

Brodar lets you have as many tags as you want, because people are layered. You might be a gym guy, a gamer, a bear admirer, a travel lover, a party boy, romantic, a side, a trans man, a leather guy, a chill out kinda guy or all of those things at once!

That freedom matters, that freedom means something, it means that you are who you are and no app company should give you limited options to show the world who you are.

Custom tags make searching feel more human too. Instead of everyone being pushed into the same basic categories, users can search for the words and communities that actually mean something to them. It gives people more control over how they are seen and how they connect.

we didn't undertake this concept lightly, we are aware of the dog whistles and key words that exist in any community for seedy and darker subcultures, these are monitored and prevented and as always we are a growing community and a start up company. We only know so much and we rely on the help and feedback of the community to make this app a better platform in every way, so like the old saying is "if you see something, say something" report, send us and email or reach out to our social media DM's.

Brodar is a gay connections app, and connection starts with being able to describe yourself properly.

Not just what an app thinks you are.

What you say you are.
